Cornerless violin in reclaimed timber

Reclaimed western white pine front - a wood I've used many times previously with lovely results. So a C19th chest of drawers destined for scrap lives to sing. There is a nail hole in the front. My original intention was to make an invisible repair, but when I saw that the hole is a square one (because the nail was handmade by a blacksmith and was itself square), I felt this little piece of the story of this timber was too good to lose!

Back and sides from a timber reclaimed from some 1960s Scandinavian furniture. I'm not entirely sure what the timber is, but it's dense and incredibly resonant. It smells wonderful in the workshop and is, I suspect, Narra from the Philippines.

The violin has a powerful sound, fantastic for sessions.
